Joint Commission accreditation as an office based surgical facility is recognized nationally as a symbol of quality that reflects our commitment to meeting certain performance standards. To achieve this accreditation we voluntarily underwent a very challenging and rigorous on-site evaluation to assure that our practice is providing you with safe, quality healthcare, taking every essential measure to protect you from infection, educate you about the risks and options of your diagnosis and treatment, while at the same time protecting your rights and confidentiality as a patient. Achieving this accreditation shows compliance with the national performance standards held by the Joint Commission.
Cumberland Surgical Arts was also awarded certification as an office based surgical facility by the Board of Medical Examiners. We are proud to say at CSA we have the distinction of being the first office based surgical facility in Tennessee to become certified. The certification requirement of office based surgical facilities became law in 2007. This regulation requires that all medical offices performing surgery with anesthesia undergo an evaluation by a representative of the department of Health and the facility must meet all rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Medical Examiners.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are the only surgeons in the country who are required to learn general anesthesia techniques as part of their residency training program. As an oral, facial, and cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Lee manages a wide variety of problems relating to the facial and body regions. Dr. Lee practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and elective cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Lee’s staff is trained in assisting with I.V. sedation within our state of the art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
The staff at Cumberland Surgical Arts consists of certified surgical technologists, dental assistants, Registered Nurses, and Certified Nurse Anesthetist. All of our clinical staff are either Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified.
